Government of Brunie Darussalam Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
- For Undergraduate and Diploma programs, you must not exceed 25 years old. Postgraduate Master’s degree programs require that you be at least 35 years of age by the first of July each year.
- You must be proficient in English and have a Credit 6 on the GCE O’ Level Examination, a Grade “C” in IGCSE English (as a second language), or an IELTS score of 6.0 or a minimum TOEFL score of 560.
Government of Brunei Scholarships Cover
- The tuition fees include acceptance, examination, registration, and orientation fees.
- Economy class airfare to Brunei Darussalam, from the country of origin/country domicile of the scholarship recipient prior to the start of the course. An economy class flight from Brunei Darussalam back to the country of origin/country domicile of the scholarship recipient upon completion of the course;
- Personal allowance monthly of BND$500.00
- Monthly meals allowance: BND$150.00
- BND$600.00 annual book allowance
- The University/ Polytechnic offers accommodation in a residential college
- Baggage allowance to send the scholarship recipient’s personal items to their country of origin/country domicile after the program is over. The maximum amount allowed to be sent to countries outside of the ASEAN region is BND$500.00
- All-inclusive insurance during the entire duration of the Scholarship

Brunei scholarship BS And MS Financial Benefits
University of Brunei Darussalam Scholarship in Brunei 2024-24 for National and International Students. This Full-Free scholarship will pay all expenses related to studying postgraduate degrees at UBD. Below are the details:
- Waived tuition fees, Register And Acceptance Fees at Universiti Brunei Darussalam
- A Subsistence Allowance Of BND 2200.00 per Month For 36 months
- On-campus Accommodation For 36 months
- One Round Trip After accepting the scholarship, an Economy Class Air Ticket will also be provided to the student’s home country.
- Field Research Allowances (BND 1000.00 for Arts and Humanities and BND 2000.00 for Science candidates).
Brunei Scholarship Duration
The University of Brunei has 3 types of scholarships.
- Master by Coursework: The study period will last twelve months (12) Months full-time or 18 (18) Months depending on the program.
- Master by Research: The study period will last for twenty-four hours (24) Months full-time
- Doctor of Philosophy: The minimum period of study is 36 hours (36) Depending on the program, it could be six months (60) or twelve (12) months full-time.

How to Apply For HEC Brunei Darussalam Scholar
- 15 February 2024 is the deadline for applications for the Scholarship.
- A candidate may need to appear at an interview at the place(s), as determined by the institutions offering these programs. The applicant will also be required to take a written exam to determine if they are proficient in English/ Malay/ Arabic Languages (where applicable).
- Any application may be rejected by the Government of Brunei Darussalam. Final decisions regarding the selection of candidates are final. All questions or disputes relating to the decision will be ignored.
- Upload documents to the application form ( BDGS Application Form).
- Recent passport-size photograph.
- Certified true copies of academic qualifications (i.e. certificates, testimonials, transcripts).
- For documents not in English, certified English translations must be submitted.
- Original certified copies of Passport and Birth Certificate.
