About FUI Foundation University Islamabad
The Foundation University Islamabad (FUI) was a part of the Fauji Foundation and was established in accordance with the provisions of a Federal Charter in October 2002. The university has been classified as a W4 category (the highest-rated classification) according to the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
The academic programs provided by FUI are accredited through the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC), National Technology Council (NTC) and Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC).
As a higher education institution (HEI), FUI, in the first place, develops connections with other HEIs on both international and national levels, with local communities and the business sector, particularly the Fauji Foundation industries. FUI has signed a number of MoUs with international and local organizations, including universities and industries as well as private companies. We continue to pursue these agreements to build an active knowledge economy to the benefit of faculty, students, and alumni.
The main strength of FUI is in its highly trained and experienced faculty as well as its carefully developed academic programs that are backed by the latest academic facilities, including fully-equipped libraries, labs lecture halls video conferencing, medical labs, a digital library auditoriums and seminar halls, among others. FUI has also created the Media House, an FM channel 101.8, and the Psychology Clinic.
Additionally, counseling and career advice are offered to students, as well as ample opportunities to participate in a variety of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities in order to make them fully-rounded people. In addition, the university insists on building character and instilling ethical values into students.
Financial aid through scholarships is available to meritorious students, who are disadvantaged but exceptional. The University also has an Alumni Association which provides a platform for the students who are graduating to connect, inspire and gain from the alumni from the university.
