Regularization of Contract Employees By Punjab Govt is announced. Govt of Punjab Services and General Administration Department S&GAD has sent a letter to the deputy accountant general of Punjab concerning the legislation in 2019 as well as the regularization process for contract workers.

In the letter, he stated that the Punjab Assembly and Punjab Govt have amended the Regularization Act in 2019 so that all contractual employees that have finished three years of service are eligible to be regularized.

The Punjab Regularization of Service Act-2010 was amended in 2019 to facilitate the regularization of contract employees and to broaden the scope of the Act to all the contract employees who have continuously been serving as such for a period of three years vide Notification bearing No.PAP/Legis-2(30)/2019/2164 dated 13-12-2019.

Section 2(3) in the bid for Act states that it will apply to all those employed under contract by the department that has attained three consecutive years’ employment prior to or following the date of the enactment in the Act.

All contractual employees having completed three years of service, in the same manner, are now considered regular. However, the employees who are BPS-16 or above, and who were not chosen by PPSC wait for regularization via the Punjab CM Approval.

In 2021, the PPSC Regulations were amended 2021 and in accordance with the latest news, CM Punjab can use his authority to regularly supervise BPS-16-plus contract workers without PPSC Exams.

SSEs and AEOs who work in the School Education Department are looking toward CM Punjab since 2014. The total amount of employees is more than 14000. They’ve been working since 2014 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 as a contractual employee. Numerous promises were given by Murad Raas to ensure their timely regularization.

Regularization is for All Employees

Therefore, all departments are required to regulate the services for employees on contract in-service that were recruited in accordance with Rule 17-A of the Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment and Conditions Of Service) Rules, 1974 as of their initial recruitment date or their induction into the federal service.

However, they must be subjected to the recovery of 30 percent Social Benefit (SSB) as per the rules laid out by Finance Department. Finance Department Vide its circular letter of 24.03.1987. If there is any doubt in this regard, the Finance Department may be consulted.
