In this context Chairman BIEK Dr. Saeeduddin, said that the average pass rate for intermediate is 33 percent at BIEK. The minimum required percentage to be eligible for higher studies is. This is determined in the HEC.

The Chairman claimed that the percentage minimum that is set for the HEC is very high, and forces many students to abandon their hopes of pursuing studies at universities every year.

Yet, BIEK is mulling over raising the pass rate to the 45% mark. This will help boost the quality of education in the country, as well as its economic standing.

He also recommended that we move away from rote learning and towards more critical thinking. He said that new outcome-based models of the Sindh Textbook Board have been created. This will assist students to pursue an education that is relevant to their field, regardless of their backgrounds.

Additionally, the Chairman advised teachers to be particularly attentive to the quality of the education they provide to students.
