Innovator Seed Fund Pitching Competition 2024 by HEC

Innovator Seed Fund (ISF) is a program of the HEC’s Higher Education Development Programme (HEDP) which aims to engage entrepreneurs and future aspirants who are looking to translate their business concepts into action.

Under the auspices of ISF, HEC conducted the pitching competition for applicants for start-ups of 26 selected from an initial 186 applicants. HEC in partnership with Invest 2 Innovate (i2i) provided a blended business proposal and pitching training for all startups that were shortlisted.

The ceremony to award grant recipients will take place today and the winner is eligible to receive up to $35,000 of seed money, as well as support through BICs in the forms of training for entrepreneurs Legal training, and financial education support as well as business development assistance and investment readiness education.

According to the announcement The ceremony to award recipients of the ISF will take place on the 24th of November (24 November) at 11 am at Roomy Signature Hotel in Islamabad’s Sector F-6. Federal Minister of Education and Professional Training, Rana Tanveer Hussain, will be in attendance as the main guest.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant who is the lead

  • Or, you could be a student or recent alumni or faculty member/researcher of or affiliated with Higher Education Institutions (public and private).
  • You can get approval received from one of HEC set up Business Incubation Centers (BICs).
  • Have not received any commercial sources of financing prior to submitting for an ISF grant.
  • You must be an SECP-registered company.
  • The awardees who win will need to sign a three-part agreement with the Startup BIC, the BIC, and the HEC.

Application for the ISF program will be processed through the Business Incubation Centers established by the HEC in the various public sector HEIs in Pakistan. For details regarding HEC Established Business Incubation Centers (BICs).

The ISF grant will be targeted to startups in the early stages, which will greatly benefit from a grant of $35,000 and entrepreneurial education.

How To Apply

Applications may be made in response to a solicitation for notes on concepts.

Submissions must be made to the HEC online portal (http://ric.hec.gov.pk) in accordance with the guidelines provided in the call for proposals document under the “Downloads” section. Once all the information required is completed online, you can upload all the documents required in a .pdf format and then submit the application prior to the end of the deadline.

The Portal will go active from the 16th of December 2024. It will also be open to Concept Notes till January 25 2024 at 11:59 pm.

Notification: Applications that are not approved through Business Incubation Center by Business Incubation Center by the deadline specified will not be considered in another competitive process.
