The Higher Education Commission open the applications for the Research Award Competition 2024. The competition is open to Pakistani academics and research scholars who can apply and are invited to submit their applications.
It is the HEC Research Awards competition 2024 is designed to honor excellence in research, contribute to the development of intellectuals and encourage publications with high impact. Here is some information on the award categories and the criteria for eligibility. The last date to apply for an HEC Research Award is April 26th, 2024.
Applications are invited for Higher Education Commission HEC Research Awards 2024 from Pakistani researchers/scholars. The aim of these prizes is to acknowledge the highest quality of research and contribute to the development of intellectuals and encourage publications with high impact.

The Awards are presented in three categories that are listed below.
- Best Researcher
- Best Young Researcher
- Best Publication

HEC Research Awards Eligibility Criteria
- The applicants haven’t been barred by HEC
- The applicants/publication has not received the same award earlier
- The publications listed with the credit of the author or applicant is plagiarized according to HEC the policy on plagiarism.
- For the award for the most outstanding researcher, the applicants must be residents in Pakistan for at minimum three years as of January 1st, 2024.
- To be considered the top young researcher, applicants must be younger than 40 years old on January 1st, 2024. The applicant must have been in Pakistan for a minimum of 3 years as of 1 January 2024.
- To be considered for the best publication, the candidate must be an academic book or journal article. The publication cannot be longer than three years old before the 1st January of 2024.
- The publication must be published not later than three years prior to the 1st of January, 2024.
- The book should be published by an accrediting academic press.
- Check out all the instructions in the advertisement prior to applying.
- The deadline to apply is 26 April 2024.

General Criteria for HEC Research Awards
- Candidates should not be blocked from HEC. HEC.
- Those candidates/publications that didn’t receive the awards earlier.
- Non-plagiarized publications
Criteria for Best Researcher
- The applicant must be a Pakistani permanent resident of at least 3 years as of 01 January 2024.
Criteria for Best Young Researcher
- Age 40+ years maximum on the 01 January 2024.
- The applicant must be a Pakistani resident for at least 03 years by the 01st of January 2024.
Criteria for Best Publication
- It has to be a scholarly book or Journal Article
- The publication should not last longer than three years old; by the 1st of January of 2024.
- Written by at least three people.
- The person who wrote the HTML0 is required to be Pakistani living in Pakistan for a minimum of three years at the time of 01 January 2024
- Research articles are published only in a W-Category Journal of HJRS.
- Minimum 100 citations
- A reputable academic press must release the book.
How to Apply for HEC Research Award Competition
- The hopeful applicants must apply through the HEC portal www.hec.gov.pk/site /HRA.
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- The deadline for submitting the application is April 26, 2024.
