About PMHI
Through this Program, Preventive services are offered in 36 districts of Punjab through LHWs, including screening children under five years old and PLWs IYCF counseling, and the provision of Iron Vitamin A, Iron MMS to the mother and child. The curative nutrition program was first launched in 2010 in selected BHUs from 7 districts affected by flooding (D.G. Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Mianwali, Bhakkar, and R.Y.Khan). To achieve the excellent outcomes of this program, the Government of Punjab decided to take it across Punjab in three phases. Today, 1755 Outdoor Therapeutic Programs (OTPs) and 58 Stabilization Centers (SCs) are set up across every district of Punjab. Treating severely Acute malnourished (SAM) children with no medical problems through the supply of Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) is conducted in OTPs located at BHUs at all hours of the day, RHCs, THQs, and DHQs. They are treating Severely Acute malnourished (SAM) children suffering from medical issues through the provision of medical treatments and therapeutic formulas F75 and F100 that are carried in SCs established at DHQs/THQs.
