School Education Department Punjab, has sent this letter addressed to the Directorate Of Public Instruction (DPI) as well as all Chief Executive Officers (DEAs)in Punjab dated 28-01-2024 in connection with “Extension of Contract Of Educators (SSEs/AEOs) Recruited in 2014 and 2018”.
“In the continuation of the Department’s correspondence of even number, dated 10.03.2022 Further, I am informed that the process for regularizing Educators (SSES/AEOs) has been in procedure in the department. until the end of the regularization procedure, their contract can be extended as per the terms of their Letters of the agreement after they have complied with the codal requirements.
In addition, educators whose regularization isn’t covered under the Act or the regulations and whose contract term is about to extend can also get an extension of contract subject to the satisfaction of requirements and good performance as per the terms of their letters of agreements following the necessary codal requirements”.

The Educators/AEOs suffer from anxiety and mental anguish and have been striving to be regular for quite a while. They also organized an unofficial sit-in for five consecutive weeks in the Punjab Assembly to demand regularity during the extreme cold.
