HEC 20th National Science Talent Contest 2024 Apply Online Eligibility Criteria

The Higher Education Commission is inviting Pakistani students to represent their nation in International Science Olympiads scheduled in 2024. HEC 20th National Science Talent Contest 2024 is a competition that will be held in a variety of subjects across four countries, which include the UK, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, and Iran. The HEC will pick students using National Science Talent Contests (NSTC).

To choose the Intelligent students to be selected for International Science Olympiads, HEC will host the 20th NSTC. Winners will take on the role of representing Pakistan in the Forum of the International Science Olympiad. It is expected that the Higher Education Commission will also provide a substantial sum for winning five medals during NSTC to students who succeed.

Only Pre 9th, 11th, and 10th-grade students can participate in the NSTC. Additionally, participants of teams in The Intermediate Science Olympiad can get admission to the BS Programme without an entry test. You must apply before the 20th of February, 2022 and the test will be conducted on the 19th of March in 2024.

International Science Olympiads

The International Science Olympiads will take place in the month of July 2024. The event will be held in four countries, within the relevant subjects:

HEC 20th NSTC Awards And Prizes

Students will receive the following prizes in the 20th National Science Talent Contest:

Bronze Medal Rs. 60,000/-
Honourable Mention Rs. 50,000/-
International Participation Rs. 20,000/-

Eligibility Criteria for NSTC

  • Students in the Pre-9th and 9th 10th, and 11th grades (matric O level or FSc Part I A Level) with 60% marks on their previous tests are eligible to apply.
  • Students of Part II of FSc Part II aren’t eligible.

Registration & Screening Test Schedule for NSTC

  • Interested candidates can sign up on the STEM online platform to participate in the National Science Talent Contest by 20 February 2024.
  • The National Science Talent Contest Screening Tests will be held on the 19th of March 2024.
